Postmark alternative
PigeonAtlas vs. Postmark
Built for the same mail, at a lower first price
Postmark earned its reputation on transactional mail and it is the closest in spirit to what we build: separate streams for transactional and broadcast mail, and a refusal to be a bulk marketing tool. It has years of track record we do not have. We are cheaper to start, larger on the free plan, and keep the data in the EU.
Postmark is the better choice for
- Teams that want a long, public track record on transactional deliverability.
- Anyone who needs a year of message history (Pro and Platform keep up to 365 days).
- Applications that need SMTP or attachments today.
PigeonAtlas is the better choice if
- You want a free plan you can run a small app on. Postmark's is 100 emails a month; ours is 1,000.
- You want a lower price at 10,000 emails a month.
- Your data has to stay in the EU.
- Your code already speaks Resend.
Price per month
The cheapest published plan that covers each volume, in US dollars before tax.
| Emails a month | PigeonAtlas | Postmark |
|---|---|---|
| Free plan | 1,000 emails a month, 1 domain, no card, no time limit. | 100 emails a month, no expiry. |
| 10,000 | $9/mo (Starter, includes 10,000) | $15/mo (Basic) |
| 50,000 | $29/mo (Growth, includes 50,000) | Not published |
| 100,000 | $79/mo (Scale, includes 200,000) | Not published |
Postmark lists overage per 1,000 at $1.80 (Basic), $1.30 (Pro) and $1.20 (Platform), and sends high volumes to sales, so it publishes no 50k or 100k price.

Moving from Postmark
- Create a PigeonAtlas account and verify your sending domain.
- Create an API key.
- Map Postmark's From, To, Subject, HtmlBody and TextBody to from, to, subject, html and text, and POST to https://pigeonatlas.com/v1/emails.
- If you used Postmark's broadcast stream, send newsletters from a separate domain on the Growth plan. Reputation is per domain.
- Point a webhook endpoint at your handler for sent, delivered, bounced and complained events.
The API reference has the request in four languages, and the prompts do the move with an AI assistant in one paste.
