SendGrid alternative
PigeonAtlas vs. SendGrid
Fewer knobs, a free plan that does not expire
SendGrid, now part of Twilio, is the incumbent: dedicated IPs, a mature marketing product, SMTP everywhere and integrations with almost everything. PigeonAtlas is much smaller and does far less. It is a sending API with a free plan that keeps working, prices on one page and a queue that keeps newsletters from delaying your resets.
SendGrid is the better choice for
- High-volume senders who want a dedicated IP included (Pro includes one).
- Teams that need SMTP and attachments today.
- Marketing teams that want a full campaign product with automation.
PigeonAtlas is the better choice if
- You want a free plan that keeps working. SendGrid's free plan is a 60-day trial at 100 emails a day.
- You want the whole price on one page, with newsletters included from Growth.
- Your code already speaks Resend, or you want an API small enough to read in an afternoon.
- Your data has to stay in the EU without a higher plan or a dedicated IP.

Moving from SendGrid
- Create a PigeonAtlas account and verify your sending domain. Keep SendGrid's DNS records in place until the switch is done.
- Create an API key.
- Replace the SendGrid client with one POST to https://pigeonatlas.com/v1/emails carrying from, to, subject, html and text. The prompts page has a ready-made version for an AI assistant.
- Point a webhook endpoint at your handler for sent, delivered, bounced and complained events.
The API reference has the request in four languages, and the prompts do the move with an AI assistant in one paste.
